Basic requirements for rivet nuts

January 5, 2024

1. The material and specifications of the riveted parts must match the drawings, and the specifications must not be pressed incorrectly.

2. Before riveting, it is necessary to confirm in a timely manner whether the external identification of the riveting parts used on the production line and the physical objects (material, specifications and models) in the packaging bag meet the requirements of the drawings, and whether there is any mixing phenomenon in the packaging bag.

3. After riveting, randomly sample and inspect the material, specifications, and threads of the riveted parts on the product to ensure they meet the requirements of the drawings and whether there is any pressure leakage, mispressing, misplacement, mixing, and other phenomena.

4. After riveting, there should be no obvious deformation or protrusions or depressions around the riveted parts, and there should be no obvious surface treatment that cannot cover the imprints or molds.

5. After riveting, the riveted parts must not be tilted or loose, and their firmness must be tested; The push-pull force and torque values must meet the requirements of the PEM regulations for its specification riveted parts.

6. After riveting, the thread of the riveted part must be qualified, with a go gauge and a stop gauge.

7. For riveted parts that are close to the edge or hole of the product, riveting can cause significant deformation at the edge or hole. Corresponding measures (such as shaping or polishing) should be taken according to the deformation and material expansion situation to meet the size and appearance requirements of the drawing.

8. After riveting, there should be no tilting or deviation, and it is necessary to ensure that the thread and its corresponding hole are concentric.

9. For riveted parts located near the bending edge or mold forming edge, special attention should be paid, especially for threads, and the appearance (deformation) should be carefully inspected.

10. After the riveting is completed, it is necessary to check whether the flatness is within the range. If it exceeds the standard, it needs to be transferred to the fitter for shaping treatment.
